The Scarlet Princess of Edo ( Sakurahime azuma bunsho) was published in 1817. A Buddhist monk Seigen falls in love with a cute boy. The two try in vain to kill themselves. The monk makes love with a warrior class female Sakurahime for his next pleasure. Before long she changes her social status into a cheap prostitute with a tattoo on her arms.
