Unrespected Old Testament Talk through the New Testament when you talk the Old Testament
In Japan, generally believed that "eyes for eyes" is a rule of revenge.
But it is clear that this is a rule of reparation if you read the Bible.
There is not write as "if someone break your eye, you should break his eye".
But many of Japanese think "the Bible have severe rule".
I do not know why they misunderstand so.
In Luke, Jesus Christ did not deny revenge but reparation.
13th Friday
It is a wonder that 13th Friday believed as unluckey day generally.
Even in Japan, people said so, though they are not Christian.
If you read Exodus chapter 12 to 13, you could find that pass-over dinner held 14th day or 15th day.
And you can know from the New Testament, it held on Friday.
So it was 14th Friday or 15th Friday if we replace now.
Such a trifing superstition maded those who could not read the Bible.
I do not will that you believe such a trivial affairs.
Numerous are not worse than human life nor the God.
I will angry if you say "unluckey 14th Friday"
Many exorcists made numerous as lucky or unlucky number.
Unlucky matters happens everyday, everywhere. So some of people who met unlucky in
13th Friday believe these exorcists.
Revelation
Revelation of John is often introduced with twisted explanation.
It really descrived that the triumph of the God and realize of his kingdom.
There is not described as the destruction of human.
But in Japan, many people believe that the Reveration propheted the end of human.
Many occultist issue those trivial books to earn money.
If you prepair these books with the Bible, you could find that they are so ignore and
irresponsible.
It caused that Revelation is not a easy book.
But you could find that it is widely copied from the Old Testament, when you study bible
carefully.
The Ark of Noah
Many picture of the Ark of Noah shaped like a ship.
I think the Ark shaped like windowless log cabin.
Today, many legends discovered in near Far-East.
Many Japanese well-educated persons ( we call them as "intelli" ) thought that the flood
story was copied from these legend.
If you compare these stories, you could find clear difference with them.
That is structure of the Ark. For example, Girgamesh Ark shapes perfect square.
It is stupid that make such proportion.
As to compare other stories, you could find that this is a story of beliefe, not only a myth.
We could many reality in it when we read Genesis carefully.
Many Japanese "intelli" journalists who did not read only a phrase of the story comment
that Noah as dead copy of other story and worthless.
It maybe motivated their interiority complex for the Western Europe.
For many of them, thought that nagation of the Bible brings them honour.
If foreign people read these papers, they will notice that Japanese journalists are poor
minded, firmsy and blind to the Bible.
Unrespected Old Testament
Some of Christian says "The Old Testament is useless".
Is it true?
They said that the Old Testament is Hebrew sacred book, only New testament is
Christian sacred book.
If those who did not read the Bible hear so, they will easily believe so.
They also said "Jesus Christ denyed the Old Testament".
These are really surprising quibble.
Jesus christ often quated from the Old Testament.
He even said that "For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, wii pass from the law until all is accomplished"
(RSV Mat:5.18) Only he denyed the "old legend", means as the Talmud.
In Japan, there are a climate that such a misunderstand circulate easily.
Generally believed that the Old Testament is difficult, but the New Testament is easy.
For a excuse, that they are so ignore about the Old Testament, they deny it, I think.
If they know the wondeful world of the Old Testament, they would deny the words they
spoke ever.
Other people spoke that if one study the Old Testament deeply, he will be a Hebrew
believer.
They do not know how Hebrews study the Old Testament.
Many of them usually do it metaphorically.
It means that they think the rhetorics are important, original essence are not so
important.
These circumstances did not changed for 2,000 years. [Another Sparrow] == An example of importance.
Talk through the New Testament
I had a chance to preach in a church located near Nagoya.
Selected text was the Nehemiah.
When the service ended, Pastor said "The Old Testament must talk through the New
Testament".
It was a surprise for me.
I feel that this advise include some jealousy.
Famous Tsuneaki Kato, retired proffesor of the Tokyo Theological College, ususlly
taught students like that.
I remember that this matter written in his book.
But it did not mean to force strained interpretations with the New Testament in every
service.
It only means "Testify Jesus Christ always", I think.
Surely, sometimes I found or had given a relationship between them.
It is a pleasure for me.
As to Nehemiah, "Rebuild of the Shrine" is common theme with John.
And some similarity could find.
But I spare them in the service at the reason that I wish to introduce Nehemiah but not
John.
