It is quite prestigeous to develop jet fighter individualy for each country. This is a symbol of the national ability.
But it is not easy to develop new jet fighters. Not only money and technology, political situations or balance is very effective for many cases.
In case to Japan, U.S. do not will Japan to be a world weapon supplier. They have ordered Japan to buy U.S. technology for maintain American aircraft industries.
Israel Air Industries
"Kfir" means "Little Lion". After the Six-days war, Frence cancelled the order of Mirage onesidedly in spite of many of them were ready to deliver.
Because Israel winned too much at that war, and Mirages remarked important strategy, French needed to save Arab countries, important customer of France.
Another side, this meaned a serious crisis for Israel. As to say about U.S. jet fighters, they were too heavy, complicated and epensive.
Israel wanted simple light wait combat fighter.
So they assembled Mirage IIIfs from disassembled parts which Dassault Breguet / France sent to Israel from Corsica in secret under the Arab embargo. They called this plane the gNesherh(means 'eagle'). From this experience, they were able to develop the Kfir.
Israel ought to get jet engine (SNECMA ATAR 9C) from out of France, so they bought its blue prints and technical resources from Swiztzerland company. Then they made 50 "Nesher".
But ATAR 9C was powerless to use attacker, Then Israel decided to make jet fighter themself. But it needed much time and money, too. So they choosed to attach powerful J-79 engine from U.S. to MirageIII body. Attached canard helps both stability and footwork. Heavy all weather rader replaced to light waght tactic system.
Sub air intake added in base of vertical fin to cool down engine.
These efforts effects remarkable performances for Kfir. It made france more angry.
Such histories teech that strategy needed even in peace time, in other words, Battle is held everyday to survive each country.
And these action, to choose and prepare any kind of arms or airplane, means a part of war, especially in Israel.

consume a lot of money and time. So Israel ought to accept the advice, to buy F-16 in place of Lavi.
It was a great disappointed for Israel concerned persons.
The second best policy, some equipments of Lavi diverted for Israel F-16.

FSX was planned as original development at first. But mainly the American Congress gave pressure to Japanese government. They said "Japanese should buy F-16, should not get independent technical ability".
These interruption and unreasonal America will carved in Japanese mind though U.S. is most important partner of Japan.
Then FSX maded from F-16. F-2 have many parts of new materials, advanced technologies, to get big payload and ability. U.S. denyed to offer flight code. I think this matter means that many of American politician do not look outside of their constituency. Then procuct costs awflly amount. It costs over 100,000,000 U.S. dollars.
It caused the national principle not to export weapons, so the production limited.
I am sorry that U.S. priority supported with a such a dirty skill.
Consequentry, General Dynamics was brought standstil. And Lockheed absorbed its aircraft division.
I think it is better to choose Tornade or Eurofighter Typhoon. Becaue America would not do such a histeric habitation for Western Europe.

Korea Aerospace Industries T-50/A-50 "Golden Eagle" plan started in 1992, as a Supersonic trainer and light attacker.
Lockheed-Martin, the licenser of F-16 which knocked down with KAI, selected as the co-developper of this project in 1996.
This is the first development of Supersonic Jet Fighter by Korea, though his share is fourty per cent.
Its outward form looks like F-16 and F-18, and attached high maneuverity and modern avionics.
T-50 had been expected as advanced fighter trainer, suitable for F-22 and JSF.
A-50, another phase of this plan, attached less speed and poor payload as a modern attacker to consider its price.
I think it is better to exchange engine to F-404-GE-400, which have 9,980kg thrust, makes almost M=1.8 class multi role fighter.
There is now a newest version designated RF/OA-50 gBlack Eagleh which is for use as an all-weather, tactical forward air control. So the ROKAF will deploy these as the 1st Golden Eagles in potential combat.

AIDC IDF F-CK-1 Chingkuo
AIDC is National Aviation Industry company. The reason to this project start in 1982, was U.S. Government stopped to export Jet fighters for Taiwan.
"IDF" means "Indigenous Defensive Fighter". This program maimly cooperate with General Dynamics. So it looks like F-16.
Many electric-system and parts were supplied from U.S. Industries except engine.
Turvo fan engine was developped with Gallet, from Buisiness jet transporter engine TFE731.
Less power is weakpoint of this plane. But attached FCS rader and other system is up-to-date and the proud of Taiwan.
Production amount was planned as 256, but U.S. determinded to supply F-16, and France proposed to supply Mirage 2000/5,
it was reduced 130.

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) HF-24 Marut
Marut was India original fighter, chief engineer was Dr. Kurt Tank who was Germany Focke-Wulf's main engineer. This plane intended simple maintainance for poor technology air bases, and suitable mechanism for high altitude air bases. It is honirable matter to get original airplane for each country. But it is difficult, or actually impossible.
Marut had builded over 130 and served until 1985. To say this fighter, India choosed Russian jet fighters for principal of the Air Force. But it was a epock-making effort, I think.

HAL Tejas (LCA)
In India, replacement of MiG-21 and reconstructed BAe Nut (Near 200 airplanes losted between 1990 to 2000) planned by national development fighter.
It was named "Light Combat Aircraft" (LCA) project,and started in 1983.
India would get low-cost light-weight multi role supersonic fighter which attached advanced weapon and avionics system.
Direction and designing mainly owed Aeronautical Development Agency (=ADA) and manufacturized by HAL.
This project was very delayed by the difficulty of fly-by-wire system and electronic systems.
Characteristic shape of LCA, simply stepped delta wing, have no canard, determined in 1990.
The 1st rolled out was in 1995/11/17. But some deficiency of the flight control system appered at exam.
But at that time, India had nuclear experimentation, so U.S. hesitate to supply technology and parts and assistances to India.
Such delays brought much cost and development difficulty.
As to the engine of prototype, delay of Kaveri GTX-35VS turbofan replaced for the F404.
Some additional prototypes will prepaired till 2003.
Scholar production remains still uncertain, but India Air Force expect it'll start around 2010.
In the year 2011, it is still on development, not on production.

Aero L-39/59/159 Albatros
Origined L-39 was Main trainer-plane of Warsaw Pact countries. L-59 was tuned L-39 for tandem seat light attacker. L-59 was exported for Egypt and Tunisia.
After the cold war ended, Czech enabled to introduce western technology. Then mainly Lockwell Company reconstruct avionics. Engine was tuned from DV-2 (2200kg) to ITEC F-124 (2860kg).
Then Albatros remaked for Modern and excellent light attacker. Both single seat type and tandem seat type are in processed.
It could landing off only 490m. Good STOL abilyty and simple constructure is suitable for border complicated area or front.
