Chuen Lee Tung-Chuen, 30, a movie buff, ran to America and studied film when he was 20, and came back home at the age 26. His goal is to become the "Hong Kong Martin scorsese" however, all the hope and theories and his willingness did not help Chuen to be successful in Hong Kong. All he got is a bottom position working as an assistant director. "Start from the bottom!" He keeps telling himself. But he does not know, the guy was helping, is a trashy director. At the same time, actors had been pushing the problems towards Chuen, his last payment never shows up... all these things happened to Chuen and he cannot believe he can still survive in this industry. He does have an emotion support, though. It is Abe Michiko, an AV actress from Japan. Michiko didn't make it in Japan, so she flew to Hong Kong and become softcore movie actress. Chuen fall for he. He feels frustrated when he sees his crewmember trying to harass Michiko. he made up his mind that one day he would direct a movie just for her. That explains why he took the job to help Bart even though he knows that is not what he wants to do. Nevertheless, he can earn money for his dream and more importantly, he can take control over the filming. Now he can follow his dream: to shoot the killing as if he is the Hong Kong Martin Scorsese. However, one day he missed the killing because he went out with Michiko. He had to re-shoot the scene again. At that point, Chuen experienced the stress that is typical Hong Kong movie industry faces: argument with actors, triad members asking for money, the boss wants to change the script...he went completely nuts. |
| Joanne: Edmund Pang talk about Tatming, they write Daat-Ming in the book, so I follow them (yellow colour) |

Daat-Ming Cheung Daat-Ming is a talented comedian as long as he memorized his part. I truly don't understand why Daat-Ming, who came from the theatre, often forgot his lines or did not read it in order. Perhaps he is also a writer, so he tends to put his thoughts to the story. As the result, both his ideas and the original plots brutally smashed together. A pool of writers, a pool of directors Apart from me, there were 10 writers, 9 directors (which included directors from TV, movies, MTV, commercials, and theatre, etc) participated to this project. If I have to group all their suggestions together and at the same time, keeping the original story. It would be a major problem. |
| Joanne: About the director which "Chuen" like (blue colour) |

Martin Scorsese He is one of my favorite directors in Hollywood. I believe any filmmaker would put his favorite elements into his work. I was reading an interview of him. someone mentioned during his opening of "Taxi Driver", that if he uses more trackshots for the film, the result could be better. Scorsese disagreed, "Budget decides the way of filming. If I use trackshots for the film, I would still be working on it now." His statement has planted inside my mind since then. Everytime when someone ask me why didn't I use this, why didn't I use that? I'd give them the same answer. |
