Those brand-new buses started to appear on many express routes to Palo Alto area in early February 2002.

These are the side image of 1014 (both sides) and 2023(Addition on 11/12/2002: Passenger side of "2215"... Well, there are small differences between 2000's and 2200's as well....). The front section of 2023 has no window, while 1014 "seems to have" a bigger window there.. Actually there is NO difference in passenger view from inside the coach. about 60% of the window (right behind the driver's window) of 1014 is covered with black plastic film, because there is a big cabinet at the place on the cabin (both models).
Also, the windows on the back became smaller on 2000's. This change is related to the slight shift of the rear door of 2000's for about 30 inches.

These pictures of 2023 show an "extra" 1/2-window before the rear door.

This is a picture with a similar angle as the previous one, but of 1014. Now we can see some change made in front design. The front windows were made larger and the destination sign was moved up and a bit squeezed. I personally believe that this change compensates the difficulty in sightseeing from the Low-floor section. Also, the front windows now are slightly slanted.
These pictures were taken at Page Mill and Hansen (terminal for Routes 101, 102 and 503). There were 4 LF buses (one 1000' and three 2000's) in total at the time I was there, which was amazing to the bus manias :-)

one 2000-series bus as #102 depart for Santa Teresa, while 1014 waits as #503 for Eastridge.

These are two 2000-series buses, one (rear) #101 bus to Camden/Rt.85. Another bus (front) is becoming the last run of #101, which departs 30 minutes after the rear one.
I hope you enjoyed the images, and hope you can try those new buses soon!
