Happy 87th birthday Madiba

It is Nelson Mandela's 87th birthday and festivities kicked off
at one minute past midnight on Monday morning
with a fireworks extravaganza on Robben Island
and the lighting of a torch in Mandela's former prison cell.

The procession ends at Ellis Park on Saturday,
with the torch and all the birthday cards being handed to Mandela
before the start of the Test match against the Wallabies.

It is to be handed to Francois Pienaar,
who captained the Boks to World Cup victory in 1995,
by the captains of the reigning world champions,
the SA under-19 and SA under-21 teams.
