It was a fine Sunday afternoon of May 31
rather hot summer like day
we hit upon an idea to get a bird to add a bit more fun in our dairy life
having searched in a telephone guide for a pet shop
and found Inoue Pet Garden located near from our apartment
in spite of closeness it took nearly two hours of walking under hot Sun
it may be because of a bad map as well as our rough directional sense
at last we arrived, then we found hundreds of small birds and animals in the shop
though they were small it was us much bigger human the one scared
because we are not accustomed to seeing them living in natureless Tokyo everyday
numerous birds were there but it was a small chipmunk which attracted my attention
' this small chippy is very friendly '
says the shop master taking the one out from the cage and let it go in my hand
wow! this is so cute! gorgeous!
now the chippy was so attractive that we could not go without her
to tell the truth I had no chance of keeping any animal nor bird in my life
so..... I was not confident whether I can take care of the chippy
we named the small chippy as Cherrie since she liked American cherries
though Cherrie was such a friendly chip when we saw her in the shop
now she became very scared and timid in our room
that night both Cherrie and me slept into bed with small uneasiness
next day we browsed through books and info on how to raise chipmunks
our new life with Cherrie started from studying how to get along a fun life together!
