"Shouchu "pronounces as Show-Chuw", is a distilled alcohol similar to Vodka. There are variety of materials to make Shouchu like sweet potato, rice, wheat, and sesame, sugar cane, kelp, even by milk ! Shouchu is a kind of vodka, no color, strong alcohol percentage, and not so expensive alcohol. Mainly brewered in south part of Japan. It was not drunken so well in other areas, but getting popular recently. But, many people misunderstands that Shouchu smells bad, very high alcohol percentage, a drink for physical labors. Most of them haven't tried Shouchu. Why Shouchu gets such a distinction ? Let's see the truth here......... |
