Following foot steps of some European countries, New Zealand kicked out
smokers from casinos, bars and cafes on December 10, 2004. Only place you
can smoke is outside, except for your house. New Zealand had not been a smoker's paradise because of the high price of tobacco and cigarette. And now, smokers' last resort, drinking place, is free from smoke. So, smokers, beware!! |

NZ Beer Cup is held every year. The results of this year was announced on May 29the. Beers are classified in many categories such as draught beer, dark beer and low alcohol beer. And best beers of each category are awarded Gold, silver and bronze prizes. I think that the result is a great help when you look for your favorite beer. See NZ BREWERS NETWORK site. In this site, various brewers from small to large are introduced. |

In New Zealand, chocolate must be Cadbury. Cadbury Confectionery recently announced its plans to open "CADBURY WORLD" in Dunedin where the chocolate factory operates by the middle of 2002. CADBURY WORLD will be a chocolate-theme tourist attraction and offer factory tour and retail outlet. When I was in NZ, Cadbury chocolate factory tour was the most popular attraction in Dunedin. So I was disappointed to hear the factory tour was no longer operated. It'll be back! If you go to NZ after the middle of 2002, don't miss Dunedin. If you love chocolate and you have a plan to go to NZ before that time, postpone it!! Look at Cadbury's site for further information. |
| CADBURY WORLD which was open in July has already attracted more than
10,000 visitors. It's open 7days a week. Admission fee is $14.00 for an adult. Gee, the factory tour was free before...! Guided tour is operated from 9:00-15:30. It takes 1and 1/4 hours. You can book guided tour on line or by calling. Further information is available at CADBURY. |
