You may see Japanese everywhere. A popular guide book
"Globetrotter Travel Guide" is the bible for them. In the mid 90s when I stayed in NZ, PCs and the Internet weren't common among tourists. |

Korean have "Globetrotter Travel Guide Hankul Version". |

You may see German more often than Japanese. They had Leicas. |

I saw large Indians families at backpackers a couple of
times. They were roughly 10 of them. They always carried giant suit cases. I wondered where they had bought such large cases. |

Generally speaking, Japanese are good at cooking. Even boys are good chefs. |

I don't think Caucasians are good at cooking. I doubt their taste buds as well. |

Indians don't miss traditional Indian curries even on
the road. They always cook traditional curries in traditional ways even
at backpackers. They carry various spices and spice mills in those giant
suitcases. Rich aroma makes other backpackers' mouths watering. |

I don't think we need pajamas on the road. But I think
most Japanese, even boys put shorts or buggy pants on undies while sleeping
at backpackers. But Caucasians usually sleep in only T-shirts and undies. Even girls sleep untidily in undies in front of strangers' eyes. In addition, Caucasian boys prefer brief-style undies while Japanese boys tend to prefer trunks-style ones. Don't they mind others' eyes in undies at backpacker's bed rooms where sometimes are mixed? When I stayed a motor camp, I was stunned to see a Caucasian girl walked outside from the shower booth to her cabin with only a bath towel wrapped around. She was bare foot as well. Why didn't she mind public eyes? |
